SIM/STIM – Sonar Simulator/Stimulator
SIM/STIM is a system which is able to synthetically generate the same acoustic signal that a real sonar would receive.

SIM/STIM can recreate any scenario, generating in real time the same raw signal that would receive the actual sonar, allowing the development, testing and integration of the underwater sound signal processing of the platform before the actual physical antennas and sonar equipment are available. This system allows reducing risks in all phases of the program and accelerating the work of integrating different systems.
According to customer needs, SIM/STIM can incorporate interfaces with the core of combat system.
SIM / STIM for Simulation
SIM/STIM is also a powerful real time sonar simulator, and it can work in stand-alone way or be integrated into naval tactical simulators.
Based on COTS elements
SIM/STIM is based on commercial COTs technology enabling a reduction in hardware and maintenance costs compared to the use of actual equipment or specific developments.
Spanish Submarine S80
SIM/STIM has been used in the development program of the combat submarine S80 made by Navantia for the Spanish Navy, for simulation and stimulation of sonars: CAS (Cilyndrical Array Sonar), PRS (Passive Ranging Sonar), FAS (Flank Array Sonar), IA (Acoustic Intercept Array), MODS (Mine Detection and Obstacle Avoidance System), TAS (Towed Array Sonar) and ONMS (Own Noise monitoring system). SIM/STIM also provides the control interface of ONMS and TAS.
