SIDIS – Integral Security System
In recent years there have been a growing interest in the international community on the protection of the marine field in its different aspects as security and environment.
SIDIS is a multi-sensor (acoustics and non-acoustics) underwater security system for surveillance and protection.
The SIDIS system for marine environment surveillance and protection is characterized by the wide range of tasks that is able to undertake in different scopes such as environmental monitoring, marine mammals detection, protection of ship wrecks or archaeological remains or protection of harbours, vessels and critical infrastructures in the marine environment. DDS – Intruder Detection System is one of the elements that composes this integral security system.
SIDIS configures itself as a net of nodes that can operate in a stand-alone way or making part of an integrated surveillance system. These nodes are characterized as multi-sensor (acoustics and non-acoustics), modular, versatile and high-performance systems.
The SIDIS design is based on a layer protection concept to increase its degree of effectiveness. Its adaptability allow the integration with other sensors and surveillance systems to configure wider control systems. Furthermore, SIDIS is an highly efficient communication system that includes reaction capabilities.
