The Swedish Navy has awarded SAES a contract to develop PDF Print E-mail

The Swedish Navy has awarded SA de Electrónica submarina - SAES a contract to develop and supply a sonobuoy based ASW system for the Visby class corvette.

SAES has received a contract from FMV for the supply of five relay and sonobuoy processing systems to be integrated and installed into the Visby Class corvettes. The system receives data provided by HKP-15 helicopters, whose transmission and processing system was also supplied by SAES in 2007. The system will also receive the acoustic data from sonobuoys launched from the ship itself. The information received, is processed on board for the detection and analysis of possible submarine contacts.

The SDL-SS system also includes a ship-ship link as well as Satcom communication capabilities.

The contract has a total volume of 18 M € and a duration of four years.
